Passage #2


Choose a passage from  your book that: 

(1) Connects to one of our Essential Questions for the unit and (2) You found especially interesting or important. 

Write the passage as a COMMENT below with the page number.
Then, in the same comment, write why your group found the passage interesting/important AND how it helps you answer one of our essential questions.  

 Be sure you put a label for which of the essential questions it helps answer.

  1. The passage is on page 15, first paragraph states:
    "'(Meener Venter speaking)He must learn a proper lesson. Talking is not good enough!'
    The old woman was insistent. 'He's only a child, my Baas. Once the Baas was also a child!'
    Mener Venter turned on her now. 'You go too far now, Lettie. Watch out or I'll give you a lesson, too!'"

    This passage above represents, to me, the relationship between the domination of Blacks by Whites in South Africa. Though if all the maids and servants got together, they could've overthrown Meener.
