DISCUSSION QUESTION #2

2.  How did apartheid affect the groups involved (Whites, Colored, Blacks, etc.) SOCIALLY AND/OR EMOTIONALLY.

1 comment:

  1. All the groups involved in apartheid were affected socially and emotionally. The blacks and coloreds were often separated from the whites and if they refused then they would be put in jail or shot. Whites often shot the blacks and colored just to make a statement to other blacks and coloreds. They were also tormented and belittled by the whites, making them feel like nothing. The blacks and coloreds were also affected socially, because their family members were put in jail or shot, splitting up their families. The whites were also affected socially by the apartheid, because if they had black or colored maids and their friends didn't approve of them they would also be treated like they were inferior. In the chapter One Day, Lily, One Day, Lily who is white was being discriminated by her white friends mom, because a black maid named Janey took care of her.
